Government College Sidhrawali: Perspective Institutional Development Plan (IDP) and Road Map (2018-2025)

 Planning is futuristic/Forward looking and is defined as “thinking in advance what is to be done, when it is to be done, how it is to be done and by whom it should be done”. In simple words we can say, planning bridges the gap between where we are standing today and where we want to reach. Every organization has certain objectives or targets. It keeps working hard to fulfill these goals. Planning helps an organization to achieve these aims, but with some ease and promptness and is necessary for effective and efficient functioning. Planning makes optimum utilization of all available resources and aims to give the highest returns at the lowest possible cost. Therefore, the Perspective plan of Government College Sidhrawali reflecting for the growth and development is proposed as under for the period 2018-2024. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college has taken initiatives in the preparation of the perspective plan considering the quality indicators of certain criteria determined by NAAC. Also, the framework of the perspective plan has been designed to ensure quality sustenance and quality enhancement.

·   To enable information and digital literacy, Computer awareness Programmes are offered to Arts faculty students.

·   Moreover, regular feedback from the stakeholders viz., students, parents, alumni, employers and academic peers will be obtained, analyzed and action will be  taken, besides displaying it on college website culminating in academic excellence.

·   The IQAC regularly evaluates the 360 degree feedback and adopts required measures besides stimulating the Faculty to strive for optimized and need-based academic development initiatives continuously.

·   To make the learning more utilitarian, we offer wide choices of interdisciplinary subjects at graduate level.

·   The Lesson Plans and the Teaches’ Diary maintained by our dedicated and skilled faculty show the roadmap for teaching and learning.

·   The Bridge Courses and classes for slow learners and advanced learners are conducted to cover up the deficiency.

·   To make the smart classrooms sessions interesting and productive, the faculty promotes participative and collaborative learning through debates, discussions, use of overhead projectors, and power –point presentations.

·   The College has established an innovative mechanism for the effective curriculum delivery which is aligned with the mission and vision of the college.

·   The programmes and course outcomes clearly define the learning level of the students in terms of knowledge, skills, values and capabilities.

·   The college undertakes various programmes to involve the students in social initiatives relevant to Gender Sensitization, Environment Consciousness, Eco-friendly attitude, Energy conservation and Human Values and Professional Ethics.

·  The institution vision is based on the premise that excellence flourishes in an environment that involves all the stakeholders concerned with the cause. In order to make the teaching, learning and evaluation effective and efficient such processes have been developed which give full freedom and flexibility to the faculty and the students to utilize their full potential. Further, this also facilitates the free expression of their diverse prospective through debates and discussions. An equitable and inclusive working environment creates the conditions for the faculty and the student body to maximize their creativity resulting in making them capable, competent and confident.

·  In the current session we have 1131 students out of which 518 are girls and 613 Boys. The college has an in-built ICT based Learning Management System (LMS) and e-resources which the students access using their separate login ID and Password

·  Faculty members are encouraged to come out with innovative and novel methods of teaching and many FDPs and workshops are attended by the faculty at regular intervals

·  Expansion in already existing Departmental libraries is being done. Teachers’ appraisal system has been evolved by the college

·  Three new Smart Class rooms have been built up to assist the faculty in ICT enabled teaching

·  Teaching plans prepared by the faculty are duly reviewed from time to time. Regular assignments and tests are given to students

The Research Advisory Committee is established to  review the proposals for Major/Minor research projects and research proposals for organizing National and International Conferences and Seminars to prepared  by respective departments to submit to various government bodies for sponsorship and financial grants .It also assist to teachers who want participate in National/ International Conferences and workshops.

·  One Major Research Projects proposal to Indian Knowledge System, 01 Minor Project to Council of Higher Education Haryana, 02 International Conference Proposal submitted to Higher Education Haryana.

·  01 National Conferences and 17 International Conferences have been organized during the last 08 years.

·   Over 100 National and International conferences have been attended by faculty. Faculty has more than 80 research publications.

·  60 Papers in International journals and 110 in National journals, 26 books have been written by the faculty  

·  MOUs with Institutions and industries.

·  We would be looking for opportunities for creating and achieving the vision of bringing the Institutional research activity comparable to that of a reputed University level and leave a dent on global research scene.

·  The college aims to provide all kinds of support to the students. The students belonging to SC category are exempted from fees. The college facilitates the scholarships provided by Haryana Government, Central Government and other agencies. The college has started a number of capability enhancement schemes for the benefits of the students. The entry in services scheme and Remedial coaching classes for weak students planned in the college.

·  Our well-equipped Language Lab allows the students to practice multiple languages for enhancing their communication skills with a much wider variety of activities and exercises. Beyond classroom curriculum delivery, the learning and development of the students is promoted through various field activities viz. Sports, Yoga, extracurricular, co-curricular, and outreach activities.

·  Alumni association and common meet is organized twice in a year. The Alumni Association awards certificate to the toppers of Arts, Commerce, and Science streams. They also provide financial assistance. To promote environment consciousness, certificates are given to students for making use of bicycles while coming to college and giving innovative ideas.
